Part 2 of the previous case – Treatment. Due to the location of the cervical invasive resorption , root canal therapy was necessary. An Incisal access was designed for dentin preservation. After the root canal , a lingual flap was raised , the defect was removed with burs , and TCA acid. Lingual defect was restored with Geristore , and incisal access was restored with a fiber post and resin.

Case of the Week
Part 1. This case was very interesting , and due to its complexity , involved multiple specialities. Part 2 which will soon be posted shows the treatment. Patient presented with invasive cervical resorption class 2/3 on tooth 4.3 (#27) most likely due to her recent orthodontic treatment. She had no other risk factors. The resorption was localized on the lingual aspect. She presented with no symptoms. Options were given including root canal therapy and a resin modified glass ionomer restoration or extraction and replacement. She wanted to save her tooth therefore we proceeded with treatment. As always , the CBCT was invaluable in treatment planning. .
